New family homes and church officially opened

Thursday, April 05, 2007

Newham residents joined project developers and church representatives to celebrate the opening of six new family homes and a re-developed Methodist Church in the area.

Genesis Housing Group developed the new three bedroom homes, one of which is fully wheelchair accessible, and rebuilt the Methodist Church in order to provide a more manageable and flexible place of worship for the Newham community.

Speaking at the event Mark Gayfer, Managing Director of Springboard said; "Throughout this project we have been delighted with the collaboration between our partners. The project was delivered on time and to budget and this reflects the team effort of Genesis, the Church, Newham Council, HBW Partnerships, Petch & Fermaud and Haynes & Smith."

Also speaking at the event, Reverend Denys Bament, Minister at High Street South Methodist Church, said; "Working on this development has been one of the happiest partnerships I have been involved in."

Guests were taken on a tour of the completed homes, which will be managed by Springboard Housing Association, a subsidiary of Genesis Housing Group.
