The Genesis Community Gateway Team spent the day door
knocking in Stepney Green, meeting the local people and finding out
what they were interested in studying and any barriers that may be
stopping them.
Classes that are provisionally on offer include basic numeracy,
literacy and computing. There are also ESOL lessons (teaching
English to beginners) which will be taught in local establishments
that are convenient for the students.
The project hopes to grow and offer training in vocational areas
providing a work force for the Olympics in
2012.
