Essex Unite
After the award winning success of Digital Unite, Genesis Community
is expanding this project and targeting Housing Schemes in
Essex. Promotion will begin in early 2007 and we
hope to help more people access the world of computing.
Golden Ambassadors
Helping us along the way are our Golden Ambassadors. These
are older people who want to volunteer their time to help serve
their communities and work together with Genesis Community on
future projects.
We currently have three active ambassadors from our Housing
schemes in Beckton, Manor Park
and Wansted.
In return for their dedication and hard work, Genesis Community
provides relevant training and guidance towards suitable projects
that will benefit from the ambassadors expertise.
Silver Surfers Week 2007
One of the new projects that the Golden Ambassadors will
be working on with Genesis Community is Silver Surfers Week. This
is the opportunity for older people to get involved in many
different activities taking place at various housing schemes and
learn some new skills. The end of the week will be celebrated with
a party and a chance to say thank you to all the people who have
spent their time helping throughout the week and the entire
year.
