This is a partnership programme that includes Southend United FC and West Ham United FC in addition to our various statutory and voluntary sector partners, these include Rochford District Council and the local Primary Care Trust. Woodhall Farm

The Voice of Young People
This is a project based on using the media and arts to explore the issues that young people face today. A recent achievement has been compiling a video documentary on ASBOs (anti-social behaviour orders).

Our Community Consortium
Funded by Brent Neighbourhood Renewal, this consortium is made up of a group of youth service providers that deliver mentoring, youth forums, music workshops, youth club activities and a magazine in the St Rapheals, Mitchellbrook and Brentfield neighbourhoods in Brent.

Youth forums

Genesis Community has helped to set up a number of youth forums including:

  • St Rapheals, Mitchellbrook and Brentfield youth forum
  • Brunswick Park youth forum
  • Kingsbury youth forum
  • Welsh Harp youth forum
  • Travellers youth forum

These forums allow young people to come together to have their say and to discuss issues that affect them.

London Open College Network
Genesis Community funding has helped establish a 4 day accredited training course for young people designed by the college. It teaches the essentials of youth work to students aged 15+.

Young Londoners Network
This is a network that has been set up by the London Mayors office to encourage young people to have a say. Genesis Community is working in partnership with City Hall to establish 8 young outreach workers across London.

Hackney Youth Sports Project
This youth initiative provides a wide ranging school holiday programme for young people that live in social housing across Hackney.

Outreach work
We regularly do outreach work which gives us a good opportunity to meet young people and to let them know what's available in their area.

Footprints Community Group

This is a local community group in Rochford. It is run by two Mothers who decided to get together and organise activities for the young people in the St Marks area. Many different activities take place at the community centre, and footprints has been praised for the work it does and the positive affect it has on young people and impact it has on the community.
